The California Collaborative on District Reform convened for the fourteenth time on November 29 and 30, 2010 to explore how high expectations and the use of professional learning communities in Sanger Unified School District has led to impressive growth in student achievement. Dialogue during the two-day meeting addressed the power of collaboration and use of both formative and benchmark assessments (especially for English learners) to drive school improvement. All meeting participants received a briefing book of resources and literature on PLCs, formative assessments, assessing language development, and the district context; these resources are available below.
