Governor Vetoes Bill to Change API
Saturday, October 8th, 2011
Governor Brown vetoed a bill that would have replaced California’s current measure of schools’ academic progress for state accountability purposes—the Academic Performance Index (API)— with the Education Quality Index. The new index would have included additional indicators beyond student test scores such as graduation rates, course completion and career and technical programs.
