San Diego State University (SDSU) named Joe Johnson, former dean of the College of Education and interim dean of the College of Extended Studies at SDSU, as the interim provost. Johnson had planned to retire from his former roles but shared with the SDSU News Team that he is honored to serve as the interim provost and is “looking forward to working alongside President-Designate [Adela] de la Torre as we journey into this new chapter in SDSU history.”  Johnson entered the new role on June 6 and will  continue to serve as the executive director of National Center for Urban School Transformation at SDSU during his tenure.
